Aylesford Priory, an ancient religious house of the Order of Carmelites dating back to the 13th Century, was the splendid venue for this years annual Summer Getaway.

Everyone enjoyed their picnics and tea, coffee and cold drinks were served by volunteer waitresses from Head office and from some of our other services including one of our service users.
There was a ‘fancy dress’ theme this year and both service users and staff enjoyed participating and all hoped to win a prize!Unfortunately not everyone could win and although judging was very difficult the winners were:
1st Prize to Dovedale for their Alice in Wonderland entry.
2nd Prize to Barton Court for their Blue Hawaiian theme and, yes, Elvis is still alive!
3rd Prize to Sunbury Lodge who all decided to be Bad Girls for the day.
An additional prize for outstanding initiative was awarded to The Brightdays Service for their interpretation of Mrs Bright and Mrs Days.
Our guests were able to look around the Priory ground and visit the lake.Everyone enjoyed the musical entertainment by Stage 3 who performed songs from Broadway, the West End and Jazz.Service Users and staff alike were up and dancing in the aisles, or in this case on the lawn!
David Howells, Chief Executive said “We are grateful to Aylesford Priory for providing the venue and for their support in organising our Summer Getaway.I have had very positive feedback from people who attended this happy day in the sunshine and we always welcome the opportunity to have a great day out with all our services”.
