How can I support KCHT?

You can support KCHT in a number of ways, such as making a financial donation or becoming a volunteer.

Are you part of Social Services?

No, we are a registered charity

What age children do you work with?

Will everything I tell you be confidential?

Are you open in the evenings?

No, we generally operate between 9.00am and 5.30pm.

Are your staff qualified?

Yes, all staff undertake thorough training and have an advanced CRB check.

Can you take my child into care?

No, we don't have the power to do this, our aim is to support families to stay together.

Do you offer marriage guidance counselling?

Do you run activities for children?

Yes, if you contact your local office they will be able to tell you what is available.

I can't seem to control my child, can you give me any advice?

I need help with my child's behaviour at home, where can I get help?

I think my teenager is taking drugs, what can I do?

Firstly , don't panic or confront them as this will put them on the defensive.

Who will you need to tell if I make a disclosure to you, will you tell my parents?

That will depend on the nature of the disclosure but usually we will talk to social services and encourage you to let us speak to your parents or carers.

Will you tell me everything my child speaks to you about?

No, we keep conversations confidential.

Will you visit me in my home?

Yes, this is possible if that is more convenient for you.

"I don't like school, if I leave will I get a home tutor?

It's not as easy as you think to get a home tutor.
