There are several ways that you can make a donation to KCHT's work:
You can immediately make a secure donation online by going to www.cafonline.org and searching for "Kent Community Housing Trust"
You can print off our donation form and send it to us by post with your gift by clicking the icon below. Cheques should be made payable to "KCHT".

Your gift will be increased by almost a third if you also sign the Gift Aid declaration on the donation form (You must be a UK taxpayer and pay at least as much income tax and / or capital gains tax as the amount we reclaim on your donations in the tax year).
Donations to KCHT can be made in memory of a person.
If you would like to make regular donations to KCHT, please complete the Standing Order section of the Donation form, as well as the donation form, and return it to us by post. Alternativly, if your employer offers a Payroll Giving scheme, you can make regular donations from your salary. See Payroll Giving below.

Payroll Giving - costing you less to give more to our cause
If your employer operates a Payroll Giving Scheme, your donation is taken out of your salary before you are taxed, so the amount of income tax you pay each month is reduced. Therefore, if you are a standard rate tax payer and you give £10 a month from your gross salary, it will only cost you £7.80 (or £6 for a higher rate tax payer) and yet we receive £11. All you have to do is ask your employer about payroll giving. If you are a KCHT employee you can click on the form below, complete and return this to the Payroll Department at Head Office. All donors to KCHT through Payroll Giving receive a special badge.

You may be interested to know that, as an employer of over 1500 staff, KCHT has its own internal Payroll Giving scheme which many of our staff have joined. Proceeds go into the KCHT Charitable Fund to assist service users and residents.
Helping Us Make the Most of Your Support
Other forms of tax-effective giving include the following:
-
Share Giving - Gifts of shares can help us help others
If you give listed shares to us, you will qualify for income tax relief. For example, if you are a standard rate taxpayer and donate £1000 of shares, you would get a reduction of £220 on your income tax bill (or £400 if you are a higher rate tax payer. On top of that, you will not be liable for tax on any capital gains. Please consider donating your shares to KCHT and you can reduce your tax bill while helping us provide urgently needed care and support for people both young and old in South East.
-
Gifts of Land or Property - Helping us to provide housing in the local community
Gifts of Land or Property work similarly to Share Giving (see above). If you give land or property to us, you can qualify for income and capital gains tax relief. So, if you are a standard rate tax payer and you donate a property worth £100,000 to KCHT, you could get a reduction of £22,000 off your income tax bill (or £40,000 if you are a higher rate tax payer). Plus you will be exempt from capital gains tax that would otherwise apply if the land or property has increased in value since purchase. A surprising number of people have given to charity in this way. Whether it be a plot of land that you no longer use, or something on a grander scale, gifts of land or property offers generous tax incentives to those who support charities in this way.
-
Legacies - remember us in your will
If you leave money to us in your will, the total amount of money due from your estate may be greatly reduced. There are two types of legacies; a residuary bequest (meaning that once family and friends have been provided for, the remainder or a proportion of your estate is pledged to charity) or pecuniary bequests (meaning that you pledge a specific sum of money to charity).
